1.Production ability of the mesh
The cold rolled ribbed bar start the production in the domestic at the end of 80's,and getting along development in recent 10 years, especially in the last few years, the mesh get the quick development, and become the new steel that extended by the construction department. The rapid development of cold rolled ribbed bar supply the good condition for the development of welded mesh. The domestic mesh standard was established in December 1995, which is good for the production, guarantee quality, the specification for the mesh also was carried out in February, 1998 which can increase the application and extend of mesh.
The welded mesh produced line was introduced by Qingdao steel company in 1987, then the lines were bought by many companies such as Nanjing steel company, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Shangdong, Zhangjiagang, Maanshan,Heshan,Tianjin, Beijing etc. There are 20 companies producing welded mesh in domestic, among them the most real strength is Beijing Xingtai weldmesh &technology development cor., Ltd, the producing ability is more than200 thousand tons.
2. The technical specifications for welded steel wire fabric
Technical specifications specifies: the welded steel wire fabric can be made from Grade LL550 cold rolled ribbed bar, also from Grade LG510 cold draw smooth bar. One sheet is better to be welded with the same grade of bar. The mesh can be divided into two by the type and specification. One is the standard mesh; the other is the engineering mesh. The spacing and diameter of standard mesh can be deferent in the cross line and the longitudinal line .but the diameter, spacing and length of cross line or longitudinal line must be the same, this has been specified in the specifications. The type, size of the engineering mesh should be decided by the buyer and the seller according to the design and requirement.
The diameter of cross or line wire of mesh is 4-14mm, cerement in 0.5mm. Considering on the transportation conditions, the length of mesh is not suitable more than 12m, the width not more than 3.4, the line direction spacing should be 100. 150, 200mm, the other direction should be 0.6times of the larger diameter in the condition of single-wire, dmin≥0.6damx. The shearing force is more than the product of 150and the cross-sectional area of the larger diameter wire. the mechanical properties is given as table

The future of the welded steel wire mesh
　　1.It is the trend that the welded mesh be applied in the world industrial development. The welded mesh is not only a new type, high-properties material, but also a high-efficiency constructing technology, which is the basic transformation from bundling to industrialization, and commercial. 
　　2.The mesh has many properties such as improving project quality, speedup of construction and save construction time ,save steel and declined the total cost ,especial suitable for larger area concrete project.
　　3.The rapidly application of cold rolled wire ,hot rolled grade Ⅲ steel make a good base for the development of welded steel wire fabric. The putting in force of the standard of mesh take a great works for the improvement of production quality and the expend of application of mesh.
　　4.Although the application of welded steel wire mesh is in the early stage in domestic, a great of gap with abroad, the potential market is very big because of the experience of design and construction unit and the interfere of big company. And the welded mesh has been applied in scale in part of china, the result is good. During the extend, can carry out from ease to difficult, first from building slab, floor, wall, bridge slab, water pipe, channel, airport, then turn into all kind of prefabricate components.
